Cass has worked as a physiotherapist for 20 years across different specialties, with the last 11 years based in NHS Lanarkshire chronic pain service where she works in an interdisciplinary setting, also involved with service development. Cass is undertaking a part time PhD with Glasgow Caledonian University. The PhD topic is acceptance of chronic pain and she is particularly interested in how lived experience can benefit our understanding of this area and the application of this knowledge to clinical practice.

PWLE fulfill valuable roles as advisors on the PhD research project, and this improves the availability of perspective and experience to aid knowledge development which would otherwise be limited.
