Clinical Research Project Coordinator
The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)
Vina has lived with chronic pain for the last 11 years and copes with her pain by turning it into her purpose. Vina’s pain began in her teenage years after an injury that led to trigeminal neuralgia and chronic migraine. She also experiences chronic back pain from a spinal cord injury. Vina is passionate about sharing her story (@VinaMohabir on Twitter/Instagram), advocating for others in pain, and working in pain research at The Hospital for Sick Children. She is also passionate about patient and family involvement in research. It has always been her dream to make a difference in the lives of youth with pain and feels extremely honored to be a member of such a resilient, courageous, persistent community. Vina is proud to work with organizations like the SickKids Pain Centre, Pain in Child Health (PICH) research training consortium, Solution for Kids in Pain (SKIP), the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) Global Alliance of Partners for Pain Partners (GAPPA), the Ontario SPOR (Strategies for Patient-Oriented Research) Support Unit, the Canadian Pain Society, and the Chronic Pain Network (CPN).
